i'm tired, but i thought i shld post something.

cny in msia was not too bad. my cousin's house changed a lot, afterall we hadnt been back for 2 years so to us, the change was quite significant. it was great catching up with cousins, and it was really a reunion dinner/cny. we had like almost 20 people in the house, and it has been this way for more than um at least 12 years. since i was born, this had been going on, so it's really quite cool.

and every year we will go back to the village that our parents/grandparents lived in before they moved to the more urbanised part (kuantan). it's not exactly a village la, it's like a small area in some more rural part of msia. so, some of our relatives still stay there, like my great grandmother who's 95 going on 96 this year. she's still strong and healthy luh, from all the chores and work. (y) but she barely knows my generation luh, she has like a lot a lot of descendants. like more than 40 i think.

so anw, whenever we go back, we dont really hv much to do apart from sightseeing and watching the people gamble, so we'll sit around and listen to the stories the adults say though most of the time we dont know who the people the adults are mentioning, are. it's quite interesting though.

so anw, thursday in school was alright, and today, i slept more last night, but was still super tired in school today. friendly with alumni didnt go well for me, i didnt play well and it was quite frustrating because all the hard work put in, simply doesnt pay off and it gets worse when u see other people who do not do as much, play better.

then again, i still feel that we have a lot more to work on, and i really cant do nothing, alone.

anw, it was farewell for mr chong today. skit went alright although there were some hiccups and we werent very prepared. but i felt that it was cool, considering how the amount of time we had to prepare. all the previous batches from 03/04 came back. and it was pretty heartwarming.

and thanks auntie sarah, for asking on me, checking if i'm doing fine. if u happen to see this, ' that was really nice of you :) i'm alright k, u take care and come back often to visit us!

it's been a long wk (not literally), but thanks for the candy and company and the many other wonderful things.

orientation's next wk, and ogl briefing early tmr morning. night.

so many many days of hardwork by everyone in TJ. the logo looks small but it took so long to get it done, from collecting shoes, making announcements, counting shoes, plotting the grids under the hot sun to this.
i only helped for 2 days under the sun and my tan is like dirty brown. and mr heng and some of the mazarin students did that for so many days. (y)
anw, it was heartwarming seeing how people were so cooperative and helpful. people who werent obliged to help, they came by when they were free and helped out too. people like the touchrug girls and others. for the rest, tho they didnt help to plot, they donated footwear and even till the last min, footwears were still coming in. thanks to people like jana, who gave me face coz i did announcements for so many days.
and also the bedok residents. i never knew they were so generous and so kind towards us. there were people who came down to the school to donate their footwear.
i guess it really brought the school community closer to each other. sportsxcel got quite a lot of publicity too. haha!
the CNY carnival was better than last year too. had a lot more stalls and more interesting. tho i didnt really get to enjoy it.
training on that day was good too. tho i didnt have my trusty racket and i was super tired from all the work in the morning. made it a point before training that i'm just gonna focus and not waste my time. the rest did well too. but i guess we really need to stay focused and run through this last part of the big race.
''if it's not white with feathers, dont care about it.''
''if u wanna tap, u gotta run, if not u'll forever be lifting''
now, lets get our feet moving and eyes on the shuttle.
going to malaysia tomorrow to visit my relatives. haven't been back for 2 years and now it feels weird to go back. i'm worried about my work though. i have all the tutorials and some essay plans. and when i come back, it'll be orientation. i dont wanna have piles of work to slog through after orientation. it'll be march common test soon, and the season and i don't wanna tire out.
it's not about winning, it's about having fun.
but, some things are only fun when you win.

go green day was good. at least for me. i heard about all the experiences of the rest, how pissed of they got, and how not understanding some people were.

but anw, going around collecting shoes weren't as bad, though i must say we weren't slack too! being under the sun for so long is not joke, plus it was the noon sun at the later part. we didnt have to carry a lot though, unlike those who collected newspapers and old clothes.

it was super heartwarming to see that the residents were very supportive of us, saving their old clothes, newspapers and footwear just for us. they even called out to us and asked if we are going to their block. there were these few aunties who were on their way to the market and they saw us on the lorry and asked us that. hahah.

i even saw a bag with a slip of paper on it that said ' for collection by TJC' (y)

and then there were the people who gave us canned food as like rewards, (we didnt accept k) and those who gave us stuff so we could sell and donate the proceeds, and those who thought we accpet televisions, bowls and all kinds of funny things.

and there was 1 lady who called out to us from her 6th storey flat to ask us up to collect her shoes when she saw us with a lorry of shoes. apparently she wasnt in when the students came.

the poor garang kunis had a poor day that saturday. i saw one with totally no newspaper on whatever with him, just honking his horn, watching all of us collect away the newspaper.

k, now i'm believing what mr gan and ms rita wong said, that the residents might give us stuff or money/welcome us/ chat with us/ do all kinds of nice things u would never expect. maybe, this really is something they look forward to every year, for the past 20 odd years..

so that went my saturday, and i slept half my sunday away. i guess i'll have to complete whatever's on my work-to-do list in school.

nevertheless, leave some time for love guys.
night.

sry to whoever who reads my posts that i haven't been updating pretty much recently.
school started and life's getting pretty hectic alr, with trainings, uncompleted holiday assignments, current tutorials and lecture notes to go thru, not forgetting announcement for sportsxcel on amazing feet and openhouse sports development talk i/c.

all these in 1 week and i'm quite drained. really glad to go into the weekend though i still have a lot to. but then again, i'll have time to take things slow and take a well deserved rest.

life's been pretty much the same these days. badminton and school work, and sportsxcel. and i doubt the existence of a single minute not spent on these issues. scouting round for players for badminton has really gave me lots of ups and downs and i shall not mention the whole process down here.

school work- holiday assignments and tutorials. i have double periods for lunch on 3 days and all 3 days this week, i've been spending them doing hw in school. i've got to stay on track and stop always trying to catch up with work.

sportsxcel-openhouse and announcement for amazing feet. both went alright, except that we didnt draw much crowd during the talk. turnout was not fantastic overall for openhouse too.

i was flipping thru my file just and i re-read all the cards and certs and photos in it. it got me super touched coz really, a lot has happened, good and bad, but still significant. the cards were especially nice.

that, coupled with people concerned about whether i'm alright and mr chung's quotes and the many many more wonderful stuff that happened this week, made a gd start to year 2. (though there were unpleasant stuff of course..)

'do not judge that much, because you won't have enough time to love'

train hard, study hard and love each other everyone.

(AND IT'S GO GREEN DAY TMR, BRING YOUR OLD/UNWANTED FOOTWEAR AND DONATE THEM! )

as like any other year, 2008 has been really eventful. full of ups and downs, and first times.

got back my O lvl results, was disappointed coz it wasnt up to my expectation after all that i've done. had to appeal to TJ, and this whole thing was a big irony. God made me eat my own words.

then training started proper and life was super hectic. i went to sch each day half awake, and slept the other half during lectures and tutorials; my grades slipped. i felt super helpless, not knowing how i'll be able to pull through As if it remained that way.

and then there was sportsxcel. first time i applied and got a scholarship and i must say sportsxcel is one of the best things that ever happened to me and i feel very proud to be part of this. i can even rmb how proud i felt when i received the cert on college day, when they announced my name and award. i felt really gd being in their company and soon we all became close and gd. it was heartwarming. and of course there was the responsibility that i had to bear too.

and i made announcements for the first time. i still rmb i trembled when i went up and even when i was speaking. the feeling of mr tong standing behind u watching your every movement was indescribable. and to have to be scolded right before i go up, certainly made the experience worse. not to mention it was my first time up the podium, and i entered the school not long ago, and mr tong was so hard to handle.

and then mr loh wanted me to do it not just a second time, but wanted me to do it for the rest of the season. looking back, maybe he did the right thing, overcame my stage fright and each announcement just got better than the previous day's. and i was so thankful for darsh to be alongside with me through this whole thing. and we got closer too.

and there was this guy who asked if i was the announcement boy when i talked to him randomly. lol.

k then, i rmb-ed how stressed i got over all school. the responsiblity that i have to carry, the many tasks i had coz of this responsibility and i wasnt doing too well in my studies, and there was badminton and so on. it was bad.

then there was the exco handover issue, where i really saw the ugly side of people. and it got me thinking whether everyone is just putting on a false front. and it just added to whatever problems i had.

and not to forget the people who bothered to check on me and talked to me and saw me through. <3

and of course theres 1408 too. i felt super off initially coz it feels so different from sports class, different level of humour and they dont play sports too. so i didnt feel that i belonged. but just as other things, it got better and i got used to it.

ok, i just realised, theres too much things for me to put down and i'm spent. so one last thing, would be the berita harian and csc competition. it was just like a dream come true, especially csc. from when i started playing competitive badminton, i've always dreamt of playing in a match like that during csc quarters, and winning it. and it feels exactly like how i did in the dream. the cheers, the crowd, the frustration and elation when u lose/win points. and it was simply amazing, the last few points when we were this close to losing. i doubt i'll ever forget that final moment we shouted and hi-5ed up in the air in front of the big crowd, of mostly strangers. and it felt even better winning in tj shirt. :)

2009; the other part of the dream.
